Who is Unik?
Unik is a Danish PropTech company with roots going back to 1985. With over 40 years of experience and 200+ employees, we have created Unik Bolig, the market’s most used solutions for property management in Denmark.
Over decades we have built deep knowledge of the real estate sector and its many facets, and our expertise spans all types of rental units – social, private, association, and commercial – and our software is used by administrators with portfolios ranging from a few properties to 110,000.
This experience is the foundation for HabiCen, where we build further on our deep industry knowledge and combine it with modern technology.
Zig – a strong European partner
In 2026, Unik and Zig merged with the ambition of accelerating the development of modern software solutions for property management across Europe.
Zig is the leading software provider for housing associations in the Netherlands and an established player within commercial real estate. The combination of Unik and Zig’s skill sets and experience strengthens the development of HabiCen, which over time is set to become the next generation of property management software in Europe.
The merger brings together more than 500 employees and over 1,000 customers across five countries and adds further resources to accelerate innovation, enable the integration of complementary functionalities, including advanced AI capabilities supported by the company’s Microsoft partnership, and strengthen an established international footprint.
LEB System AB - part of Unik
In 2025, Unik acquired the Swedish PropTech provider LEB System AB, which specialises in property management and facility management systems for both private and public sector clients.
The combination of Unik’s and LEB’s capabilities and insights enables a stronger development of HabiCen, which is intended over time to replace the well-established Danish property management system Unik Bolig and support expansion into the European market.
LEB System AB continues to operate under its existing name and current management in Sweden, while becoming part of Unik’s organisation.
Owned by Main Capital Partner
Unik is majority-owned by the Dutch private equity firm Main Capital Partner. Main acquired a stake in Unik in September 2023 with the ambition to support Unik in its ongoing development into a leading Software-as-a-Service (‘SaaS’) provider, backed by an international buy & build strategy.
Main Capital Partners is a leading software investor in Benelux, DACH, the Nordics and the US, employs 60 people, and has offices in The Hague, Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Antwerp and an affiliated office in Boston. Main has over €2.2 billion in assets under management and currently an active portfolio of over 40 software groups. Together, these companies account for about 10,000 jobs.
