HabiCen, Unik’s new product offering for professional property management, is now taking the next step in the gradual transition to the next generation of property administration.
Building on the foundation that already enabled Unik customers to comply with the new Danish Bookkeeping Act last year, we are now opening the next layer of functionality: access to cleansed financial data and the ability to perform modern, flexible financial reporting.
In recent years, the development of HabiCen has focused on what is not always visible to users: a modern infrastructure, robust data models, and a high level of security.
This work made it possible for Unik’s customers to comply with the new Bookkeeping Act as early as last year – an effort that alone required an investment in the hundreds of millions.
Since then, development has continued at full pace.
“The foundation we have established with HabiCen makes the system both secure and robust well into the future. Modern data models combined with Microsoft’s security infrastructure mean that HabiCen is less vulnerable and that data always remains consistent — both now and as we continue to build on it. This is crucial for enabling features such as financial reporting on a stable and secure foundation,”
explains Tonni Bjerregaard Rasmussen, Product Director at Unik.
Efficient financial reporting points the way toward a modern, integrated finance module
The ability to report on financial data is the first step in the expansion of HabiCen’s upcoming finance capabilities.
Although this represents only part of the full finance domain, the functionality already provides a clear insight into how HabiCen approaches financial management, says Preben Jakobsen, Product Manager at Unik:
“The financial reports clearly illustrate how we are building the system. Unlike other solutions, HabiCen is not composed of separate modules that are connected afterwards, but is a single, unified system where all data resides at the core. This creates a much stronger link between property data and financial data – and that holistic approach is what we continue to build on.”
He continues:
“We are opening access to financial reporting now because our foundation is so thoroughly developed that it can support real, usable functionality.”
